Booth Evangelism at Deaf Community Events
Our dictionary defines evangelism as: Dissemination [to scatter widely or spread, as in sowing seeds] of the gospel, as through missionary work. That is exactly what ADM has been doing. We have been busy spreading the gospel message far and wide to Deaf people.
Pomona, CA
April 24th was a successful, exciting day in Pomona California at the DeafNation Expo! The hall was filled with exhibitors as 3,400+ people streamed in from various parts of California.
The admission line started forming at least an hour before the event, and by the time the doors opened at 9:00 am it was a block long. But the line moved fast due to the energetic volunteers helping to sign people in. (Admission is free, but all must register to enter.)
Indianapolis, IN
On May 1st over 4000 people streamed into the DeafNation Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. This event was jointly hosted by DeafNation and the local Parent-Teacher Counselor Organization (PTCO).
Honestly this was the best show ever-great community support! It was beyond our expectations. Outside it was cool and rainy. Inside was hot like a sauna, yet people came, and stayed! -Joel Barish, CEO, DeafNation, Inc.
People thronged to the Expo from as far away as Illinois, Texas, and California.
Hartford, CT
On May 8th there were 2,400+ enthusiastic people at the first DeafNation Expo held at the Connecticut Expo Center in Hartford, Connecticut. US Senator Chris Dodd stopped by the event to say hello, as the Democratic caucus was being held in the next hall.
A large number of booths helped to make this a very exciting event. Famous deaf actor & mime, Bernard Bragg, treated visitors to a guest appearance.
See you at the DeafNation Expo in Seattle and Milwaukee in September!
DeafNation Expo is the foremost exhibition for, by and about Deaf people, and for anyone interested in learning about the deaf and hard-of-hearing world. It is a free celebration of culture, an exhibition of technology, a business and a social event, all wrapped up into one.
Please continue to pray for and support this important outreach work to the Deaf community.
